EPI Program:
** Program Name: Extended Immunization Program
** Implementer of the program: Upazila Health and P.O. Officer and all health workers under him.
** Funding and other contributors: Ministry of Health and Health, World Health Organization.
** Goals and methods: Immunization against 10 diseases of children and prevention of night blindness and malnutrition through vitamin A capsules. Prevention of tetanus in mothers and newborns through the KTT vaccine. Mothers and newborns are supplemented with vitamin A capsules by feeding them vitamin A capsules. The main goal is to reduce child suffering and mortality.
** Beneficiary population covered: All women aged 15-49 years and all children aged 0-60 months.
Diseases preventable by EPI vaccination in children:

4. Whooping cough
5. Tetanus

National Vitamin A Plus Campaign:
** Vitamin A helps the body grow normally, reduces immunity and reduces the risk of infant mortality.
** During the campaign twice a year for 6 months - All children aged 6 months to 11 months should be given 1 blue vitamin A capsule.
** All children aged 12 months to 59 months should be given 1 red vitamin A capsule.
Worm control program:
** Worm control twice a year based on school based worm medicine
** Causes of worm infection: 1. Eating without washing hands, 2. Eat raw fruits without washing, 3. Walking barefoot, 4. Do not wash your hands with soap after using the toilet.
** Disadvantages of worm infection: 1. Malnutrition and anemia, 2. Obstruction of physical and mental growth.
Personal health care activities:
** Brush your teeth twice a day.
** Cut your nails at least once a week.
** Do not spit or cough and do not urinate.
** Using hand or handkerchief on face while coughing.
School Based Health Examination Program:
** Health examination program is going on in the school.
** Test your height, weight and eyesight in this program.
** Encourage everyone else to have a health check-up at school.
ARI Program:
** Program Name - ARI.
** Implementer of the program: Supervisor / Upazila Health and all the doctors of the organization including the P.O. Officer,
** Medical Assistant, Pharmacist, Nurse.
** Funding and other donors - Ministry of Health and Health, UNICEF.
** The goal is to reduce the incidence of pneumonia and bronchitis in children.
** Beneficiary groups covered: All children.
TB and Leprosy Control Program:
** Program Name: Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program.
** Implementer of the program: BRAC and the Department of Health jointly.
** Financing and other contributors: Ministry of Health and Public Health.
** The goal is also the method: The main goal is to control the prevalence of the disease by identifying open cases and providing treatment.
** Beneficiary groups covered: All communities in Bangladesh.
Arsenic Program:
** Program Name: Arsenicosis Diagnosis Program.
** Implementer of the program: Upazila Health and WP Officer and all health workers under him.
** Finance and other contributors: Ministry of Health and PWD.
** Goals and procedures: The main goal is to diagnose and treat arsenicosis.
** Beneficiary groups covered: All communities.
